Who is the Castle Rock Barbell Club For?
The Barbell Club is for EVERYONE! Beginners and advanced Lifters alike are welcome to join! All will receive programming and Coached instruction on lifts in a group setting. Whether you intend to compete in the Sport of Weightlifting or just want to get a little more time practicing and improving your lifts under the supervision of a coach for other sport training, the Castle Rock Barbell Club is the place for you!
Why Train Olympic Lifts?
The practice of the Olympic lifts helps to improve many of the fundamental elements of fitness for athletes. Strength, Speed, Power, Agility, Accuracy, Coordination and Flexibility are just some of the traits developed by training Olympic Lifts. These attributes are desirable for any athlete in any sport!
What is Weightlifting?
Weightlifting is a sport that is comprised of the CLEAN & JERK & the SNATCH. In the sport of weight lifting (as seen in the Olympics), each athlete gets 3 attempts at each lift and the sum of the two highest is your score.
