Tell us bit about yourself (family, job, sports, military interest etc..)…
I am from Indiana I have been living in Castle Rock for almost 3 years. I have been coming out here for almost 20 years. I spent 8 years in the fire service in Indiana before we moved and now I work for Douglas County. I am married and we have 2 dogs, my all-time favorite thing is hiking and camping. I love being in the mountains as much as possible.
What were you doing before CrossFit…
Just normal boring gym workouts nothing to special, I have wanted to do CrossFit for many years just never done it until now, best thing ever
What were your thoughts after your first CrossFit workout…
Holy shit this sucks!!! How the hell am I going to be able to do this
What were your goals when joining CrossFit…
Just to get in the best shape that I have ever been in and fight my asthma and be able to breath better and push my self-way harder than I have ever before.
Have you achieved any of those goals…
I have achieved all and way more than I have ever thought I would, in just the 10 months except for the better asthma that still kicks my butt every WOD Lol
Has CrossFit affected your life outside the gym….
CrossFit have changed my life 360, I am in the best shape I have ever been and I am still getting there, for once I looked forward to going to the gym it has given me way more energy and just feeling good with life.
Any advice for people getting started…
Never give up!!! this will be one of the hardest things you ever do to yourself but it is 100% worth it and you will get better just keep working hard and pushing yourself hard. You will be happy at the end.
Some of your recent accomplishments…
Kipping pull ups, just starting to get my double unders and just heavier weight that I have never gotten before
What makes CFCR special to you?
The community, I love the group of people that I work out with every day, they all keep pushing to make you better and not give up and the coaches are amazing they know their stuff and they make sure you keep pushing and getting better as well and they really do care.
