Name… Jennifer Roberts

When did you start CrossFitting… July 1, 2014

Favorite wod… I really like the holiday workouts (Murph, 12 days of Christmas, Super Bowl WOD, etc….)

Least favorite wod… 15.5

Favorite lift… Deadlift

Least favorite lift… Overhead squats

Tell us bit about yourself (family, job, sports, military interest etc..)… I like to do adventurous things! I love hiking, camping and traveling. I think roadtrips are really fun! I like to do obstacle races and other endurance events. But my favorite thing to do is sit on the top of a 14er and take in the amazing views!

What were you doing before CrossFit.. I was really into obstacle races. I ran Spartan Races and Tough Mudders. Pretty much I would run, hike the incline and occasionally do some strength type training.

What were your thoughts after your first CrossFit workout…“take my money, this is awesome!” I loved it! I was hooked from the second I walked into the class. It was hard, but was what I needed

What were your goals when joining CrossFit… I needed to get stronger to be able to finish the 2014 Spartan Race World Championship race.

Have you achieved any of those goals… I did! After 3 months in crossfit I was able to go and crush the hardest Spartan Race in history!

Has CrossFit affected your life outside the gym…. Yes! I am healthier, I can hike mountains and I feel better! And it’s pretty much all I talk about…Oh and I have made great friends that I spend most of my weekends with! Yay 7:30 class!!!

Any advice for people getting started… Have relax, have fun and get a great workout! Don’t stress about what the person next to you is doing, work on making yourself the best it can be! Modify and scale when needed and be proud of all your accomplishments! Track all your workouts and maxes, it’s great to look back at everything and see how much you’ve grown!

Some of your recent accomplishments… I got pull ups, toes to bar, and double unders a few months ago! I just hit 135 for a hang clean PR!!!! And I hiked 8 14ers in a month!

What makes CFCR special to you.. What doesn’t make it special?! CFCR is awesome!!! The staff, the coaches and the members are the best! It is like one big family. The coaches are top of the line and amazing at what they do. The members are friendly and so great! I’ve made lifetime friends!!!
